At the time of her death, Sue had a 13 year old daughter named Angela Marie Archer that she loved very much. She was also survived by parents David and Sharon, Sisters Sheila (Saheed) Dabiri, Trina (Dave) Blume, Angela Archer (Greg), and Brother David (Alyson) Archer. She was a loving aunt to Kayla, Katie, Sarah, Randi, Kevin, and Anthony. She died suddenly on Sept. 13, 2006. She was 43 yrs old. 

Robert E. Beasley, age 47 of Hastings, died suddenly of a heart attack at home in Hastings, MN on June 13, 2010. He was born June 17, 1962 in St. Paul to Albert & Phyllis Beasley. He married Lois Chylik on August 25, 1984 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; father in law, Joseph Chylik, Sr. Robert is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Courtney; mother, Phyllis; brothers, Calvin (Teri); Albert (Lori); sisters, Roxanne (Sally); Donna (Dan) Gainor; and Debbie; brothers in law, Dennis Chylik; Joe Chylik; sister in law, Denise (Dale) Fry; other relatives and friends. He graduated from Park of Cottage Grove High School in 1981. He was a student at the University of Minnesota in the early 80's and attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the early 90's where his creative talents were honed. He was a long-time employee at UPS where he made many friends. A devout Catholic, he was a very caring and giving person who put others before himself, especially his family. He was the favorite uncle to his loving nephews and nieces and will be deeply missed. He will forever reside in the hearts of his family and friends. Special thanks to the entire Saint Joseph's Hospital neuro-ICU staff for their exhaustive efforts and care. Sheila Fischer Lisk of Cottage Grove died suddenly of a heart attack on Monday morning February 4, 2008 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. Teri Ann Gerfers, age 49, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2012, at her home in Clinton, Missouri. She was born in Clayton, Missouri, on August 7, 1962, the daughter of Joe C. and Lorraine E. Bauman Gerfers. She grew up in the St. Louis area and then moved with her family to Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and graduated from Park Senior High School in the class of 1981. She has made her home in Clinton, Missouri, for the past seven years. Teri was preceded in death by her father, Joe Charles "J. C." Gerfers on June 12, 1997. She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Gerfers, of Warsaw, Missouri; four sisters, Sue Hilsman, and her husband, Joe, of Warrenton, Missouri, Kay Merkel, and her husband, Dan, of Wausau, Wisconsin, Cheryl Porcello, and her husband, Troy, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and Diann LaBella, and her husband, John, of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, David Gerfers, also of Cottage Grove, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri. Karla L. Stein, 46, of Chippewa Falls,Wis., died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 28, 1963, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Marlys G. (Nelson) and Glen Stein. She was raised in Minneapolis and Cottage Grove, Minn., and graduated from Park Senior High School in Cottage Grove. She was employed as an assistant manager at the Burger King in Cottage Grove. She has been a resident of Chippewa Falls for the past 15 years. Survivors include her mother, Marlys Stein of Hudson, Fla.; a brother, John Stein of New Richmond, Wis.; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen, and her grandparents. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Lake Cemetery in Spring Valley, Wis. An Avondale Arizona woman was arrested yesterday (June 25, 2011) after she claims her husband -- with whom she's had several documented domestic violence issues in the past -- told her "shoot me bitch," which she did, killing the man. Aimee Stensgaard, 27, admittedly killed her husband during a fight after the two came home from a bar early Saturday morning. According to court documents obtained by New Times, Stensgaard, an alcoholic, and her husband, David Stensgaard, were in the process of getting a divorce after two years of marriage. The couple had several previous domestic violence incidents -- many of which Aimee Stensgaard says went unreported -- but the couple still lived together as they were trying to sell their home. About 9 p.m. Friday, the two returned home from a bar called the Shouthouse in the Westgate City Center where they'd been drinking together. When they got home, the two changed out of their party clothes, David Stensgaard put his 9-millimeter handgun on the night stand in his bedroom, and the two began to argue about past jealousy issues in the marriage. The fight moved throughout the house -- from the bedroom, to the kitchen, and through hallways. Aimee Stensgaard later told police she wanted to leave but feared David wouldn't let her and would stand in the doorway as she tried to flee, like he'd done in the past. She told detectives she couldn't call police because that, too, would make David angry. Finally, after arguing throughout the house, Aimee locked herself in the bedroom that had the gun on the nightstand. She says David may have damaged the door as he tried to punch or kick his way in. Over the course of the argument, Aimee told police David had been calling her a whore and using other profanities towards her. By the time she found herself in the bedroom, she'd apparently had enough of the verbal abuse. Aimee told police she opened the door, gun in hand, and told David -- who at the point was standing about 20 feet away at the opposite end of the hallway -- that she was tired of being made to "feel like shit" by him and that he needed to stop taunting her. David, Aimee later told police, responded by telling his wife to "go ahead and shoot me, bitch," which she did, killing him. She immediately called 9-1-1. When police arrived, Aimee was covered in blood. She'd been holding her wounded husband trying to apply pressure to the wound in his chest as she waited for police to arrive. Police noticed dried blood around her lips, which she told them was the result of kissing David as she was trying to help him. Aimee told police she didn't want to kill David, she just wanted to scare him by shooting in his direction. She says she didn't intend to hit him when she fired the gun. As police note in their report, though, Aimee's story didn't pass the smell test the first time she told it. Initially, she told police she shot David in the midst of a physical assault. When police found no evidence of physical violence, she changed her story to say she shot him as he was standing down the hall. Aimee Stensgaard was booked into a Maricopa County jail on one count of second-degree murder.

Brad J. Swanson September 25, 1963 - November 18, 2011 Brad J. Swanson age 48 of Cottage Grove, MN Passed away November 18, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Brad will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, son and friend. Brad loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, was a long-time baseball coach for his boys, adored watching his daughter play basketball and softball and thoroughly enjoyed his dogs Bosley and Bessy. He and his wife Kathy were happily married for 25 years. He will be deeply missed, but we know he is watching over us. Trobec, Kenneth J. Our beloved Ken passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016, age 53. Preceded in death by father Joseph K. Survived by mother Bernadette; siblings Jay (Rebecca), Michelle, Scott (Sarah), Chris (Jannell), Kara, and Vanessa; nieces Amanda, Karissa, Sophia, and nephew Parker. Ken grew up in Cottage Grove, MN and graduated from Park Sr. High in 1981. At a young age, Ken enjoyed taking the bus to Mpls. and decided that would be home. He enjoyed exploring the city; including the library and the many restaurants while working at the Target Corporation for over 10 years. Ken had a passion for traveling, especially backpacking and biking around Europe. He always traveled with his own bike, which family loving referred to as his "bike in a box". Ken's travels took him all over Europe, notably Slovenia, the cities of Bled and Ljubljana hold family ancestry. Ken felt a special connection to Amsterdam and Ljubljana. Ken also enjoyed science fiction art, attending Minicon (science fiction convention), as well as cooking and trying new foods. Ken often said, "My favorite food is food I've never had before." He was the master chef of the family, always bringing new foods to our table from his travels. He was also the "go-to" person for cooking questions.
